Case Study: Bovingdon Airfield Studios
The Challenge
Bovingdon Airfield Studios operates a high-security, 24/7 production environment where reliable connectivity is critical. The site needed a network capable of supporting day-to-day operations alongside a changing mix of production tenants, while also preparing for a significant multi-phase expansion of the studio over the coming years.
At the time of engagement, there were intermittent connectivity issues and gaps in Wi-Fi coverage, and a more resilient foundation was needed to support both current operations and the site’s longer-term plans.
The Approach
Opious was engaged to stabilise and rebuild the network, creating a resilient and scalable foundation for the site.
This included a full core network overhaul with N+1 redundancy, upgraded backhaul capacity, improved WAN resilience, and a complete Wi‑Fi survey and optimisation programme to ensure consistent coverage across all operational areas.
All works were delivered within planned maintenance windows to minimise disruption to live production.
The Outcome
The network is now stable and supported through an ongoing Managed Network Services model.
Since the network upgrade, no connectivity-related complaints have been reported from production teams. This has improved day-to-day operations, allowing site management to focus on operational priorities.
The studio now has a resilient network capable of supporting both core operations and incoming production tenants, with greater confidence in performance and reliability.
“Working with Opious has been a game-changer for our IT infrastructure… We now have confidence that our network is secure, efficient, and well-supported.”
