Accessibility at Opious
Accessibility plan published 4 November 2026. Next full update due by 1 June 2027.We want everyone to be able to use our website, read our documents and work with us easily, whatever their needs. This page sets out our accessibility plan: how we find, remove and prevent barriers for people with disabilities. It also explains how to give us feedback.
Found something hard to use? Tell us. You can use our online form, email us at marketing@opious.com or call us. You don't have to give your name.
1. About this plan
This plan covers Opious' operations across the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada. It sets out our approach to identifying, removing and preventing accessibility barriers across our website, documents, communications, services and workplace.
It also addresses our accessibility reporting obligations as a regulated telecommunications service provider in Canada, under the Accessible Canada Act and the CRTC Accessibility Reporting Regulations, and supports our approach to accessibility under the laws of the other countries where we operate.
This plan does not cover transportation, because we do not provide transport services. Customers do not visit our premises, so the built environment section focuses on our workplace only.
2. How to give us feedback
In short: tell us about any barrier you experience, in whichever way suits you. You don't have to give your name.
Your feedback helps us find and remove barriers. You can tell us about anything you have found hard to use or access, or comment on this plan.

Giving feedback anonymously
You do not have to give us your name or contact details. The online form does not record who you are unless you choose to tell us. If you write to us, you can leave off your return address. If you phone us, just tell us you wish to remain anonymous. We consider all anonymous feedback, but we won't be able to reply to you directly.
Who receives your feedback
Our Marketing Manager is responsible for receiving accessibility feedback on behalf of Opious.
What happens next
If you give us your contact details, we will acknowledge your feedback within five working days, using the same method you used to contact us, wherever possible.
We review all accessibility feedback, including anonymous feedback, to understand the barriers people experience. We use what we learn to make improvements, remove barriers and shape this plan and our annual progress reports.
Your personal information
We treat your personal information as confidential. We only use it to review and respond to your feedback, and we will not disclose it without your consent unless we are required or authorised to do so by law. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
3. Identifying, removing and preventing barriers
In short: our policies, programmes, practices and services for finding, removing and preventing barriers.
Information and communication technologies
- In October 2026 we tested opious.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We found low colour contrast on buttons and small red text, an invisible keyboard focus outline, low-contrast form text, small tap targets and some images and links without text descriptions.
- We fixed these issues in November 2026 and re-tested the site before publishing this plan.
- We will re-test our website every six months and before major changes.
- We will make sure text on our website can be enlarged without content being lost, and that pages work with screen readers.
- We will check new website content, customer-facing documents and PDFs for accessibility before we publish them.
Communication, other than information and communication technologies
- We will write customer documents, including proposals, quotes, contracts and service datasheets, in clear and simple language, and provide accessible versions on request.
- We will make greater use of live captions in Microsoft Teams meetings and provide transcripts on request.
- We will offer this page and our progress reports in other formats on request (see section 6).
Design and delivery of programmes and services
- We will give customers the opportunity to tell us about any accessibility requirements before site surveys, installations and project delivery, and adjust how we work with them.
- We will provide written briefings to partners before site work, so information doesn't rely on verbal instructions alone.
- If one way of contacting our support team is a barrier for you, we will offer another.
Procurement of goods, services and facilities
- We will consider accessibility when selecting software, portals and equipment we use to serve customers, including how they can be used by people with disabilities.
Employment
- We will invite applicants and employees to tell us about any adjustments they need, and consider reasonable adjustments throughout recruitment and employment.
- We will make our job adverts available in accessible formats on request.
The built environment
- Customers do not visit our premises. Where employees work from our offices or facilities, we will consider accessibility needs and make reasonable adjustments.
4. How we consulted people with disabilities
In October 2026 we invited all of our staff and our customers, suppliers and partners to take part in an anonymous survey about barriers they had experienced with our website, documents, communications, services and workplace. Anyone who preferred to talk could contact us by email or phone instead.
Responses came from staff, suppliers and partners, including a person with a disability and someone who supports a person with a disability. We did not receive responses from customers, so hearing more directly from customers will be a priority in future consultation.
What we heard has shaped this plan. As a result, we are:
- making greater use of live captions in Microsoft Teams meetings and offering transcripts on request
- making sure text on our website can be enlarged and that pages work with screen readers
- providing clearer written briefings to partners before site work
- offering several ways to give us feedback: online form, email, phone and post
We will continue to consult people with disabilities as we review this plan, including seeking feedback directly from customers and exploring ways to involve external accessibility organisations.
5. How we applied the principles of the Accessible Canada Act
We prepared this plan with the principles in section 6 of the Accessible Canada Act in mind:
- Dignity: we treat everyone with respect, offer adjustments without asking people to justify their needs, and treat all feedback seriously.
- Equal opportunity: we aim to give everyone the same opportunity to work with us and for us.
- Barrier-free access: we are removing barriers on our website and in our documents so people can use them independently.
- Meaningful options and choice: people can choose how they contact us and receive information in the format that works for them.
- Different needs and intersecting barriers: we ask about needs individually rather than assuming one approach suits everyone.
- Involvement of people with disabilities: we invited staff, customers, suppliers and partners to shape this plan, and we will keep consulting through our feedback process and progress reports.
- The highest level of accessibility: we test against current recognised standards, WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and will review this plan regularly.
6. Other formats
You can ask for this page, including our feedback process and accessibility plan, and our progress reports in print, large print, braille, audio, or an electronic format that works with assistive technology. Contact us using any of the methods in section 2.
We will provide print, large print and electronic formats within 20 days of your request, and braille or audio within 45 days.
7. Progress reports and updates
We will publish a progress report on this plan each year, explaining what we have done, the feedback we have received and how we have taken it into account. We will publish an updated accessibility plan by 1 June 2027.
